FIFA Lesson 2: Customer Experience Is the Product

Last week, we shared a business lesson from the 2026 FIFA World Cup about the power of partnerships. Another facet worth contemplating is the importance of the overall experience.

Fans attending the World Cup aren't simply watching a match. They're experiencing the travel, hospitality, technology, atmosphere, and every interaction along the way. The full journey matters as much as the event itself.

The same is true in recruiting.

Candidates don't judge an organization solely on the job opportunity, nor do clients judge a candidate solely on a resume. They remember the whole experience that built the relationship and led to a successful hire: communication, transparency, responsiveness, time invested, insight provided, and guidance throughout each stage of the search process.

This is where a strong recruiting partner makes a meaningful difference. They support hiring managers and internal teams to facilitate a smooth search process while helping to create a positive, consistent experience for candidates. The result not only leads to stronger hires and teams but also to the increased likelihood for long-term investment on both sides.

In today's competitive talent market, the end-to-end experience yields the best product. Organizations who invest in their team building, engaging a recruiter to conduct the search process so that it is a positive experience for both them and the candidates, will find that top talent notices the difference.
