Lori Carpenter has over 25 years of hands-on experience in legal search and recruitment, giving her a breadth and depth of industry knowledge that can be matched by few. Leveraging her recruiting experience and the business education she gained at Clarion University, Lori founded Carpenter Legal Search, Inc. (CLS) in 1994 and has distinguished herself nationally as an expert in identifying and recruiting top legal talent for law firms and corporations in virtually every substantive area of law. She is frequently quoted in the press as an expert on the legal market.
As the founder and President of CLS, Lori leads the firm’s management and business development activities. She is active in executing General Counsel and other senior level search assignments for corporate clients in a wide variety of industries and companies ranging from Fortune 100 corporations to emerging growth enterprises. She also supports a diverse law firm clientele with lateral partner acquisitions and practice group mergers. Developing close relationships with her clients and candidates enables Lori to focus on the cultural fit and overall compatibility of clients and candidates. She has earned a reputation for uncompromising service and exceptional recruiting and search services for clients.
Lori is a trusted advisor to CLS' clients, and her counsel is regularly sought on current hiring needs, growth strategies, and succession planning. She frequently consults with General Counsels and law firm Managing Partners to share her in-depth market knowledge. She is proud to have contributed on many levels to the success of the firm's clients.
CLS is a member of the National Association of Legal Search Consultants (NALSC), and Lori has held numerous leadership positions within the organization, including multiple terms on the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee as the Association’s Treasurer.
